Amy Vachal: Strawberry Moon

By Carolina Vergara @carojournalist

A few days ago I saw on Twitter an article about the release of Amy Vachal's first album and I looked it up in Spotify literally in two seconds.

The album cover of Amy Vachal, shows it holding a white frame, with a glass, where you can see, a light and soft blue paint. Amy is also a visual artist, so she shows two facets of her art: music and painting. Amy is looking forward and it makes sense, because the release of her album is a big step in her career.

Amy Vachal is an American singer-songwriter from Brooklyn, who participated in season 9 of "The Voice". I remember her perfectly, because first she was in Team Pharrell and later in Team Adam Levine, vocalist of the group "Maroon 5". In “The Voice” she made two covers: "Hotline Bling" by Drake and "Blank Space" by Taylor Swift that are versions that have a very own style. Amy Vachal has a soft voice, almost like a whisper, that transmits a lot of emotion. His album "Strawberry Moon" was released on January 31 and within the songs that I liked the most are: "Wait", "Taken", "Honey" and "Darling You".

The album is Folk, with soft guitars and piano. The slightly scraped voice of Amy transmits all emotions in poetic letters that rescue honest and somewhat confessional stories.

A super recommended album!
